Answer to Question 1

Endocrine glands secrete hormones into the bloodstream. These hormones circulate through the bloodstream until they reach the body structure they are to affect. The hormone contacts the target cell and begins a chemical chain reaction within the cell that results in a change in the cell's metabolism or protein synthesis. This can change the function of the cell. When many cells are stimulated to change, an organ, system, or even the entire body may respond, which results in hormonal control of body function.

Answer to Question 2

C
Explanation: A) This describes an oblique, not a transverse, fracture.
B) This describes an open or compound, not a transverse, fracture.
C) Correct
D) A transverse fracture is not the same as a greenstick fracture.
