Answer: BASICS stands for Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students. It is used nationwide and funded by NIH. The student receives two interviews with a therapist to identify problems and make plans for solutions.

Answer: A version of any three of the following reasons:
 Desire to be liked and popular
 Desire to be in or sophisticated
 Fear of rejection or ridicule
 Fear of hurting a friend's feelings
 Uncertainty about what you really want
 Unawareness of how to get out of a bad situation
Any three of the following steps:
 Take a reality check.
 Remind yourself of the risks.
 Just say no.
 Walk away.
