Answer: Antioxidants stabilize free radicals. Free radicals are produced by pollution, sunlight, cigarette smoke, strenuous exercise, and stress. They cause a chain reaction that causes damage to cells and is linked to cancer, aging, Alzheimer's, dementia, heart disease, arthritis, and Parkinson's disease.

 Carotenoids are found in red, orange, and deep green fruits and vegetables. They may help reduce the risk of certain cancers, cardiovascular disease, and age-related eye diseases.
 Flavonoids are found in soy, berries, tea, and chocolate. They may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, blood clotting, and high blood pressure.
 Organosulfur compounds are found in broccoli, cabbage, leeks, garlic, and onions. They may help protect against cancer.
