Answer to Question 1

More baked and broiled foods, sugar substitute, less salt and seasoning containing salt, more herbs and spices, and eliminate the beer or at least reduce it to an occasional beer. Mrs. M can have some potatoes but because of the potassium content, she should not have as many as she is currently eating.

Answer to Question 2

No change in GG's weight has been given. In the first part of this study her BEE was 1223, so:
 BEE = 1223 or 1200 kcals
 1200 x SF of 1.5 = 1834 or 1800 kcals
 Extra kcals could be added for weight gain but you should start out low and gradually increase since GG is not used to eating that much.
 Protein = wt in kg x 1.3 - 1.5 = 58  67 g
