Answer to Question 1

4 Rationale: Vitamins A, C, and E are antioxidants and are being marketed to athletes to help with muscle stress associated with exercise. However, there is little evidence to show that this actually helps. All of these vitamins (A, C, E) could be used for people who exercise indoors and outside. Vitamin D and calcium intake are important for athletes, but even more important for the athlete that exercises indoors because they have less exposure to sunlight, which is a source of vitamin D. People who do not get enough calcium and vitamin D have weak bones.

There can actually be a 25-hour time difference between certain locations in the world. The International Date Line passes between the islands of Samoa and American Samoa. It is not a straight line, but "zig-zags" around various island chains. Therefore, Samoa and nearby islands have one date, while American Samoa and nearby islands are one day behind. Daylight saving time is used in some islands, but not in others—further shifting the hours out of sync with natural time.
