Answer to Question 1

The major criticism of A&F's actions is that they came late. Ceasing any
distribution of the catalog, although a costly option, would have been
appropriate. It is hoped that A&F learned from the experience and set up an
internal system of checks and balances -- one that includes public relations -- to
avoid the marketing mindset that created this mess in the first place.

Answer to Question 2

Government regulators, shareholders, law enforcement agencies, health care
officials, college administrators, parents groups, SADD (Students Against Drunk
Driving) -- and even the liquor industry -- would think this was a bad idea. No
one, including a liquor industry struggling to position itself as being socially
responsible, would embrace this spread as a great idea.
