Answer to Question 1

Although it is generally safe to exercise in a hot environment, you need to consider the following guidelines: (1) start
slow, and reduce your total exercise time; (2) adjust your exercise intensity to avoid exceeding your target heart rate;
(3) wear loose, light-colored clothing; and (4) drink plenty of fluids before, during, and after the exercise session.

Answer to Question 2

Evaporation is the primary means of dissipating heat during exercise. Convection can be beneficial when exercising
in wind and water. Humidity can retard evaporation and cause heat retention and overheating.
