Answer to Question 1

ANS: A high-fiber diet helps lower your risk of developing constipation, diverticulosis, obesity, heart disease, cancer, and diabetes mellitus.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: Saccharin was first discovered in 1879, and became widely used as a sugar substitute in the United States during the rationing brought on by the two World Wars. The FDA banned saccharin in 1977 due to reports linking it to bladder cancer in rats. Congress then suspended this ban, allowing saccharin to be used commercially but requiring a warning label that stated it was potentially hazardous to your health. In 2000, the National Toxicology Program (NTP. removed saccharin from the list of substances that potentially cause cancer. After extensive review, the NTP determined that the bladder tumors in observed rats were actually caused by a biologic mechanism that wasn't relevant to humans.

Chronic necrotizing aspergillosis has a slowly progressive process that, unlike invasive aspergillosis, does not spread to other organ systems or the blood vessels. It most often affects middle-aged and elderly individuals, spreading to surrounding tissue in the lungs. The disease often does not respond to conventionally successful treatments, and requires individualized therapies in order to keep it from becoming life-threatening.
