Your friend LaTonya says she wants to make sure she's getting enough protein without getting too much. What advice would you give her?
 a. At least 2/3 of each meal should consist of animal-based foods such as fish, lean poultry, or nonfat dairy..
  b. Drink nonfat milk with every meal and snack and eat yogurt for breakfast every day..
  c. At least 2/3 of each meal should consist of plant-based foods such as legumes, vegetables, and whole grains..
  d. Be sure to eat at least 6 oz. lean meat every day..

How could someone determine if a particular food contributes a lot of different nutrients to the diet each day?

One could consult a diet analysis program, a food nutrient index of a nutrition book, or the www.ChooseMyPlate.g ov website. For example, one could look for a fruit that supplies the highest level of fiber, or folate, or another nutrient. If a particular food shows up in the top 5-10 contributors for more than one nutrient, it would be considered nutrient dense.
