Answer: Nicotinic receptors are ionotropic and are located on muscle fibers and in the brain. Muscarinic receptors are metabotropic and are located only in the brain. ACh is an agonist for both receptors. Curare blocks nicotinic receptors, while atropine blocks muscarinic receptors.
