Answer to Question 1

Two federal laws govern menu labeling in restaurants and foodservice operations: the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act and Section 4205 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 . NLEA applies to operations that make health or nutrient-content claims on their menus. Section 4205 applies generally to chain restaurants and requires nutrition information to be made more available to the consumer.
